The work involved draining down each successive aeration lane, inspection for damage and repair, removal of existing diffusers, partial re-filling of the lane and testing of the diffusers, re-commissioning of the lane, while maintaining throughput with the remaining five lanes. The scope also included installation of new valves, electrics, DO instruments and control valves.

Naston was responsible for design, supply, installation and commissioning of an effluent reception tank with duty/standby pumps pumping to a rotating biological contactor (RBC). The treated effluent transfers by gravity to a settlement tank where the remaining particulate sludge sinks to the bottom and is pumped back to the inlet of the cess pit. The final effluent weirs over into a collection collar and discharges to the soak away.

Design, supply, installation, and commissioning of the refurbishment of the odour control system for the Poole Sewage Treatment Works. This work involved refurbishment and enhancement of the existing stream 1 BAFF plant odour control system and connection of the sludge process tanks and buildings to the same odour control unit. The system includes GRP ductworks, flow balancing and activated dampers, fans, pH, ORP, H2S and methane monitoring, including all controls and safety systems.
Chemical Dosing Renewal
Design, supply, installation and commissioning of the renewal and upgrading of the total chemical dosing system. The work included ferric sulphate, caustic soda and polyelectrolyte dosing packages, complete with all controls. The work was completed with minimum managed disruption to the existing supply.

Project: Troqueer WwTW - Aeration Scheme Year: 2006 Client: Scottish Water Country: UK (Scotland) Value: ?171,000.00 Description: Following successful design, installation and testing of a new fine bubble diffuser system on the first lane, Naston was responsible for the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the replacement fine bubble diffuser system on the remaining three lanes. The system includes stainless steel lift out grids with Envicon tubular fine bubble diffusers, plus control instrumentation. This will provide improved effluent quality and reduced power costs.
Project: Fortrose WwTW Year: 2005 Client: Scottish Water (Morrisons) Country: Scotland Value: ?1,150,000.00 Description: Design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of a membrane bioreactor plant to treat up to 1975m3/day domestic sewage. The project also included the raw sewage and final effluent pump stations, storm screening, 3 mm inlet screens, sludge thickening and storage with new blowers and MCC, installed in a purpose built operations building.
Naston provided a complete Subcontract package including all process, mechanical and electrical works, including building services, site lighting and other site infrastructure works.
