The industrial waste water treatment plant for Titanium manufacturer Timet (UK) Ltd was designed and built by Naston as a turnkey project. A section of this treatment facility was a lime dosing plant shown for neutralisation of the effluent.

This plant included a 30 Tonne capacity hydrated lime silo, twin screw conveyors feeding two lime slurry preparation tanks on a duty/duty basis, each with a capacity of 5000 litres. The plant was installed complete with fine and coarse dosing, using diaphragm pumps to provide fully automatic pH control.

Two hydrated lime silos for West of Scotland Water, Balmore WTW. The lime is discharged from the silos into three 27,000 litre slurry preparation tanks via screw conveyors. Each silo is mounted on load cells for stock control.

The tanks work on a Duty/Duty basis and are fitted with ultrasonic level measurement, load cells and access provisions and mixer assemblies.

Commissioning of Micro-Sand storage silo for Yorkshire Water, Elvington WTW. The sand is fed from the silo into one of two mixing tanks which operate on a Duty/Duty basis, via tubular screw conveyors. The silo is fitted with a reverse jet filter, access provisions and mounted on load cells for stock control.

Tanks are of steel construction and are fitted with mixer units and capacitance level measurement.

25 Tonne Lime Storage Tank for Wessex Water, Vale Road WWTW. The lime is fed into dewatered sludge cake. Following an exothermic reaction the stabilised sludge is disposed onto land as an environmentally friendly product.

One 25 Tonne lime storage tank and conveyor unit for the National Mining Museum at Caphouse Colliery. The tank feeds lime into 2.5m3 slurry mixing tanks and duplicate 3000l/hr slurry pumps guarantee the treatment and final quality of the mine discharge water.

A 50 Tonne lime storage tank and conveyor system for Severn Trent Water at their Roundhill site. The storage tank is fed into 6m3 slurry mixing tanks, which is then pumped into a spray drier and wet scrubber to react with the sulphur dioxide within the flue gas as part of the desulphurisation process.
